Knit Hot [Part 1]

All things knit are (shit) hot this Summer and crochet seems to be a firm favourite with the masses. Most prevalent in the 70s, this cyclical trend has firmly claimed it’s place as a staple in my wardrobe over the years; especially if it's crazy colourful! So, I've decided to share three of my favourite crocheted outfits with you all...

RAINBOW CROCHET 90s HAT: Vintage via eBay

I've always wanted to take up knitting as a hobby. If I only find the time for that later on in life then so be it. I'll be knitting my grandkids (or cats or whatever) shit hot outfits for all the festivals and they will love me for it; they don't call them Granny Squares for nothing, ya know! This dress is part of the old skewl Rat & Boa collection. That was when you could get a piece for under £50 and when I still had hopes of looking remotely like Valentina Muntoni does in the photos. Well, a girl can dream, can't she?

Anyhow, I've kinda lost interest in Rat & Boa over the years as I feel it's overpriced and under quality. Nonetheless, this dress has, and always will be, a favourite of mine. I love how effortless it is to just throw on for a festival or something and the colours make me sooo happy! J I had to trim it to the right length (which is weird as I'm rather tall), as well as thread the ties through the back for a more flattering fit. Hopefully one day I will be able to create a better quality version of this dress all by myself and perhaps a matching hat to go with it?!

Speaking of hats, I'd love to say that this one was a creation of my own but, in reality, I obvs snapped it up off eBay. It's still awesome though; I've been living in it at Festivals and by the beach this Summer. It has every colour under the rainbow in it, so technically there's nothing it doesn't go with e.g. these multicoloured platform flip flops from Rocket Dog ;)

What will you be wearing to festivals this Summer? Stay tuned for the second & third part of my 'Knit Hot' series :)
